The jackdaw (Corvus monedula) is a member of the crow (corvidae) family. It
is a small, black crow with a grey neck and pale eyes. Jackdaws are sociable
and are usually seen in pairs or larger groups. They are acrobatic fliers and
flocks will often chase and tumble together in flight. They also roost
communally - in woodlands. Jackdaws can be seen in fields, woods, parks
and gardens and are often found on grassland and pasture.
