Jay (Garrulus glandarius)
The jay (Garrulus glandarius), a member of the crow (corvidae) family, is no
longer considered a public health or public safety nuisance species. It can be
controlled to prevent serious damage to livestock, foodstuffs for livestock,
crops, vegetables, fruit, growing timber, fisheries or inland waters, or to
conserve wild birds. Jays can be found across most of the UK, living in both
deciduous and coniferous woodland, parks and mature gardens.
